RTD Cables & PRT Cable

Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTDs) and Platinum Resistance Detectors (PRTs) offer an alternative measurement technology to thermocouples and are generally used at extreme temperatures. RTDs are used because of their simpler operation, increased stability and sensitivity although they have an increased response time. PRTs measure temperature by determining the electrical resistance of a piece of pure platinum wire.

Heatsense offers a variety of RTD and PRT extension cables available in 2, 4 or 6 core configurations and sheathed in PFA, PTFE, ETFE, FEP or PVC to suit a variety of applications.

PRTs

Heatsense supplies 7/0.2mm diameter copper stranded conductors that can be provided stranded, screened or unscreened for use with PRT sensors. Available in 2, 4 or 6 core configurations and sheathed in PFA, PTFE, ETFE, FEP or PVC to suit a variety of applications.

  • Red or White inner insulation
  • PVC and PVC screened insulation rating -10°C ~ +105°C
  • PFA and PFA screened and PTFE and PFA screened insulation rating -75°C ~ +260°C
  • Available incorporating tin-plated copper, stainless steel- or nickel-plated over-braid

PRT Twisted Pairs

Heatsense supplies 7/0.2mm diameter copper stranded conductors. Two or four cores are supplied and insulated in PFA. The cores are then twisted and over-sheathed in a PFA jacket.
