Skills Required:

Computer literacy particular in Microsoft Office and any other CAD software

Some electrical theory required – knowledge of current, resistance, voltage
Maths knowledge + simple geometry
Able to read and interpret wire & cable specifications
Ability to liaise with and discuss electrical requirements with technical engineers
Ability to create wire & cable designs from detailed performance paragraphs and test requirements
Basic understanding of conductors and insulation materials
Ideally have some cable test knowledge
Ideally have knowledge of Quality Systems, ISO9100, ISO9001 etc

Daily Responsibilities:

Creating and maintaining product designs.
Understanding and interpreting customer requirements
Creating and adjusting Bills of Materials/Routings around the shop floor
Be responsible for the creation of data sheets product specifications and First Article Inspection
Able to solve production problems and liaise and communicate with production / machine operatives
