The Heatsense cable design team have been able to support Rolls Royce in producing a range of bespoke sensor cables for test and development of their Ultrafan turbine.
Heatsense is also approved by Rolls-Royce plc to supply cables in accordance with SABRe 3 for the following departments and regions:

The problem
Rolls-Royce were having supply chain issues with the range of specialist test and development cables required for the development of the UltraFan Turbine.
Heatsense were approached as there was an understanding that the company had the specialist equipment and knowledge to manufacture this range of unique cables.
The solution
Roll-Royce detailed technical drawings were provided and Heatsense manufactured a selected range of made to print and thermocouple cables. These cables needed to be manufactured to extremely tight tolerances particularly the thermocouple and sensor cables – they are difficult to produce. The range of bespoke aerospace cables were shipped to an independent test house, tested, certified and approved.
The net result being that Heatsense was awarded Rolls-Royce Tier 1 Approval for its range of Test & Development Cables.
These cables are Rolls Royce specified designs and were used extensively on the Rolls-Royce UltraFan Test and Development Programme.
